Well … this is a little embarrassing. Ultimately, if there are ads on a keywords, we want to show those ads. But for some reason Google didn’t serve us any ads. At least they didn’t the last time we checked. The first step here is to make sure that you’ve checked out ad history to see if this is a flook this last month. It likely is and we’ve actually found ads on this keyword in the past. More on ad history here

Another possibility is that ads just started showing up on this keyword and we haven’t found them yet, but they will be out next month. You can probably tell by the keyword is this is likely or not.

The next thing to understand is that while we failed to find the ads you’re seeing on Google, nothing with SpyFu is actually broken. We did track that keyword, and we were really served a search result page with no ads. We can prove it with our cached pages. More on that here . The thing is, Google will serve different content depending on IP address. Also, even just refreshing the page can sometimes show different ads or no ads at all. At the end of the day it is hard to pinpoint exactly what happened.
